Game Setup and Rules
To play Tug of War, use the 15-meter rope with the red
string tied at the exact center, and two more blue
strings tied about
3 meters to each side of the center marker. Place a painted wooden stick on the ground to mark the center line.
Divide players into two equal teams and have them line up on opposite ends of the rope, holding it behind their
win marker. When the game starts, both teams pull in opposite directions, trying to move the rope so that their
win marker
crosses over the wooden stick. The first team to pull their marker over the center stick wins the round.
Players should never wrap the rope around their hands or bodies, and the ground should be flat and safe to avoid injuries.
The rope’s center red
marker should start aligned with the wooden stick before the pulling begins. A referee or adult can call
out “Ready, Set, Pull!” to start the game. The game can be played in rounds to keep it exciting and fair, switching sides between rounds.
